Nadia's name

In the week since Nadia's arrival, we have received numerous congratulations on our new baby and compliments on her name. Several have asked if her name came from the time I (Jenny) spent in Russia. The answer is yes.

Nadia is the nickname of the Russian name Nadezhda. Nadezhda, in Russian means "hope". Nadia was a name I always liked while I was in Russia. Since then, and especially since living in Mozambique, I have thought alot about the signficance of hope in our world. My prayer for our daughter is that God will use her to bring Hope and Grace to the world around her.
